Writing stories about lifestyle is an art in itself and it needs certain techniques to be able to craft compelling write-ups, which the seasoned and well-respected PR communications and special events consultant, Joselito ‘Toots’ Tolentino will be conducting for high school and college students this summer starting April 4, titled ‘The Art of Writing Lifestyle Stories’ workshop.
Workshop covers topics on art and culture, health and wellness, home and interiors, food and restaurants, fashion and beauty, travel, and family and personalities. Venues are not strictly confined in a classroom setup, but rather tailored-fit according to the topics to be discussed. Workshop schedule is on Mondays and Wednesdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Saturdays with a minimum of five and maximum of seven workshop participants per class and has a total of five to six sessions.
Toots, as his friends call him has written numerous articles in various publications e.g. Philippine Daily Inquirer, Manila Bulletin, BusinessWorld, The Times Journal, and other magazines. Back in the 80s, he was a contributing fashion editor of Sunday Times magazine.
His passion for such subjects has earned him the title and respect as one of the purveyors of lifestyle PR for years. His recent projects include 9Works Theatrical’s ‘Rent 2011’, Dulaang UP’s ‘Orosman at Zafira’, Repertory Philippines’ ’39 Steps’ and ‘Shakespeare in Hollywood’.
