QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Noel Cabagon’s ‘Tuloy ang Byahe’ concert will have two repeat performances due to the overwhelming clamor of fans, and billed as ‘Tuloy ang Byahe, (The Repeat) Ngayong Pasko’ at The PETA Theater Center, New Manila, on December 13 and 14 at 8pm.
Cabangon candidly told the members of the press of his fondest memory prior to pursuing or considering a singing career; he was once ‘scared’ to face an audience, back when he was still a kid when he was asked to sing in a school program. But today, he is one of the most bankable artists and popular singer-songwriters in the music industry.
His album ‘Byahe’ earned numerous awards, including the elusive Double Platinum Record Award and had a sweep in the 2010 Awit Awards. In just 20 weeks, the same record topped the music charts, while his most recent album, ‘Tuloy ang Byahe’ also gave him another Gold Record Award two months after its release.
His most recent victory is having another sold-out solo concert held on September 28 at the Music Museum. The said concert was attended by His Excellency President ‘Noynoy’ Aquino, as well as DILG Secretary Mar Roxas, Senator Kiko Pangilinan, Pop Diva Kuh Ledesma, among others.
In this slated two-night concert, he is expected to be backed up by his guests—Ogie Alcasid, Gloc 9, Aiza Seguerra, Jim Paredes, Boboy Garovillo, and more.
What makes Cabangon’s music still relevant in this present day? It is the universality of his songs and it speaks from the heart and touches the soul of every listener and every audience who encounters his brand of music.
Proceeds of the concert will go to Philippine Educational Theater Association or PETA’s endowment fund campaign, 50@50: Take PETA Beyond 50, which is meant to ensure the sustainability of PETA’s cultural work and unique creative programs. It aims to raise Php50 million in time for the theater group’s 50th anniversary in 2017.
Tickets are priced at Php800, Php1500, and Php2500, respectively and are available at TicketWorld and PETA. For reservations, contact (632) 8919999, 7256244, +639175765400, or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
