MANILA, Philippines – BroadwayWorld.com (BWW) Philippines awarded Rachelle Ann Go of GMA-7 Party Pilipinas and Erik Santos of ABS-CBN 2’s ASAP 18 for their performances in last year’s Atlantis Productions’ ‘The Little Mermaid’ on April 7, in their respective shows.
Go earned the Best Actress in a Musical and Santos as Best Crossover Artist (From Mainstream to Theater).
The Asian Premiere of Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ also earned other BWW Awards: Cecile Martinez for Best Choreography (Musical), Eric Pineda for Best Costume Design (Musical/Play), Erik Santos for Best Crossover Artist (Mainstream to Theater), Bobby Garcia and Chari Arespacochaga for Best Direction of a Musical, Ceejay Javier for Best Musical Direction (Musical), Lex Marcos for Best Scenic Design (Musical/Play), Bobbit Jacinto for Best Sound Design (Musical/Play), and Best Locally-Produced Broadway Show (Musical/Play).
The BWW Awards are theater fan choice awards, which garnered more than 4,000 nominations from the Philippines last year. Nominees were trimmed down to 125.
