Kapuso Stars lead set of nominees for 2013 BroadwayWorld.com Philippines Awards


Three of GMA-7 Kapuso artists are included in the list of nominees in 2013 BroadwayWorld.com Philippines Awards. Tom Rodriguez is nominated twice for his portrayal in Atlantis Productions’ Aladdin for Best Actor in a Musical and Best Crossover Artist (Mainstream to Theater). While Aicelle Santos also got two nominations—Best Actress in a Musical and Best Crossover Artist. Rachelle Ann Go earned her second BWW nomination for her appearance as Jane in Viva Atlantis Theatricals’ Tarzan as Best Actress in a Musical.

Meanwhile, Aiza Seguerra, who was also part of Atlantis Production’s Aladdin is nominated as Best Featured Actress in a Musical and G. Töngi as Best Featured Actress in Atlantis Productions’ Piaf, respectively. Independent movie actor Marc Abaya is nominated for Best Crossover Artist, too.

American actor Dan Domenech, who assumed the role of Viva Atlantis Theatricals’ Tarzan also snitched a nomination for Best Actor in a Musical. Carla Dunareanu, Christian Bautista’s ex-girlfriend and who was part of the TV series The Kitchen Musical is nominated as Best Actress in a Straight Play for her debut onstage in the Philippines via Repertory Philippines’ Boeing Boeing.

Maestro Ryan Cayabyab also has two nominations—Best Music for a Filipino Musical, one for Spotlight Artists Centre’s Katy and the other for Green Wings Entertainment’s Lorenzo.

BroadwayWorld.com Awards also runs its nominations for a record-breaking number of 50 regions.
