MMFF launches its NEW WAVE Section entries soon


2013 MMFF New Wave Press Con InvitationThe 39th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) will reveal the five finalists for the Full Feature Category, five for the Student Short Films, and five for the Animation Category, respectively on Friday, December 6, 2pm at the Pine Function Hall of Sequoia Hotel, Quezon City.

These entries will be screened on December 18-24 at the SM Megamall Cinema 7 and Glorietta 4 Cinema 1. A twin Gala Night on December 18 will open the New Wave on both cinemas.

The NEW WAVE Section is for independent and student films to be given a rare platform and participate in the annual celebration.

In 2010, the MMFF, opened this category and the festival body strongly believes that the independent and student films movement will continue to be a great source of fresh and new film visionaries in the Philippines.

The MMFF is an annual celebration of the Filipino talents in the movie industry and is now on its 38th year.

  1. Since the MMDA Chairman has an emergency cabinet meeting, the press con is moved to an earlier time, which is at 11am, but still at the same venue.
