Anna Freud once wrote, “Sometimes the most beautiful thing is precisely the one that comes unexpectedly and unearned, hence something given truly as a present.” This is somewhat the theme of Star Cinema’s January offering—‘Bride for Rent’, which features the box-office team-up of Xian Lim and Kim Chiu and set to open on January 15 in theatres nationwide.

Lim plays the desperate Rocco Espiritu who resorts to hiring a bride in order for him to claim his trust fund. Chiu as Rocky dela Cruz is the woman who acted out as the pseudo-wife. Such material is a classic example of an effective formula for Philippine romance pocketbooks, which suits well the wacky chemistry that brought the success of ‘Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?’

According to Mae Czarina Cruz, the movie director both Xian and Kim are very ‘involved’ in the process of finishing this project.

“Both made sure that if people found them funny in their first film together; this time they levelled-up the ‘kilig’ factor,” the director added.

In the film, ‘Asia’s Queen of Songs’ Pilita Corrales to the big-screen as she portrays a very special role as the bearer of good news. All romantic comedy film buffs and fans of the Kim-Xian loveteam will be excited to witness an unforgettable and feel-good cinematic experience.
