The love story between the poor and the rich has always been an interesting element and a successful formula for any genre, which ABS-CBN Channel 2 finds it fitting to gather four of the country’s hottest young stars—Kim Chiu, Coco Martin, Julia Montes, and Jake Cuenca in the lead cast for a historical romance-drama series titled ‘Ikaw Lamang’ which airs tonight, March 10 at 8:25pm right after ‘Honesto’.
Chiu, fresh from her phenomenal film success via ‘Bride for Rent’ plays Isabelle Miravelez and is paired with Coco Martin as Samuel Obrero, also known for his bankable status via hot series ‘Walang Hanggan’ and ‘Juan Dela Cruz’. Cuenca on the other hand, who just wrapped up his TV assignment via ‘Maria Mercedes’ plays Franco and he doesn’t mind playing second fiddle to Martin; he always make it a point that he does such role[s] for the sake of his commitment for the craft. Montes, who also starred in ‘Muling Buksan ang Puso’ will portray the role of Mona Roque.
To ensure that this series will have the right mix of interesting supporting leads, three of the country’s equally talented female actresses—Cherie Gil, Angel Aquino, and Cherry Pie Picache were designated to assume the roles of Miranda, Rebecca, and Elena, respectively. Apart from that, top-notch actors, the likes of Tirso Cruz III, Ronaldo Valdez, Ronnie Lazaro, and John Estrada were also casted.
