The number one music company in the country—MCA Music recently signed up the Top Four finalist in last year’s ‘The Voice of the Philippines’, Myk Perez as one of its acoustic artists.

In March this year, Perez launched his debut album ‘My Acoustic’ at a Bloggers’ Conference held at the music company’s office in Ortigas Center.

Apart from being the Top Four in ‘The Voice’—it was actually his cool breezy voice that made MCA Music decide to carry him and launch him as a certified recording artist.

‘My Acoustic’ features songs: “Runaway’ (originally by The Corrs), ‘Easy’ (Lionel Richie), ‘Why’ (Avril Lavigne), and ‘Clarity’ (John Mayer). It also includes Perez’s recorded versions of his performances from ‘The Voice’, such as: ‘Fix You’, ‘Chasing Pavements’, ‘Give Me Love’, and ‘Baby I Love Your Way’. However, the thing that his fans would be excited about is the bonus track, his own composition titled ‘Honey under the Moon’.

Back in ‘The Voice’, he was pitting against another artist who has more experience under her belt—Lee Grane, but he went victorious over his co-team member under Bamboo Mañalac.

In his new-found path, he takes with him the good memories of the four coaches in ‘The Voice’. Coach Apl highlighted that he should ‘own’ the stage when he gets to perform. On the other hand, Coach Sarah will always be an ‘inspiration’ to him. The West End and Broadway Diva Coach Lea was more of a ‘big sister’ to him, who guided him like any other Ate would be. While his Coach Bamboo, had taught him to be ‘just himself’ whenever he hits the stage to perform for his audience.

Perez also did a duet with Asia’s Acoustic Sweetheart—Sabrina, in the latter’s ‘I Love Acoustic 6’ via a song “Almost is Never Enough’.

‘My Acoustic’ is available in CDs under MCA Music and via digital downloads via spinnr.ph and iTunes.

Perez has two scheduled mall shows at SM Sucat on Sunday, May 4 and at SM Calamba on Saturday, May 10, 5pm.
