MANILA, Philippines – After a year of mounting two equally intriguing straight plays—‘Closer’ and ‘Cock’, Red Turnip Theater kicks off with its second season with 2007 Pulitzer Prize winner, ‘Rabbit Hole’, written by David Lindsay-Abaire.
In this Manila premier, Topper Fabregas makes his directorial debut and will mark the comeback of film and television star Agot Isidro in the role of Becca, opposite theater veteran Michael Williams as her husband Howie.
‘Rabbit Hole’ is a story that revolves around Becca and Howie, a couple who struggling to heal after the death of their four-year-old son to a car accident. It also tackles on the grief that slowly threatens to tear the couple apart. The play shifts between humor and heartbreak. It explores the way people deal with loss and how this affects those closest to them; their families.
Also the play was a Broadway hit that garnered several Tony nominations and a win for its lead actress, Cynthia Nixon. It was then adapted into a critically-acclaimed film directed by John Cameron Mitchedll with Nicole Kidman in 2010 and earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress with Aaron Eckhart as Howie.
Che Ramos-Cosio as Becca’s sister Izzy, Sheila Francisco as their mother Nat. Ross Pesigan as the young boy named Jason who’s responsible for the tragic loss of Corbett’s son.
