Prior to becoming one of the country’s most sought-after female hosts, Toni Gonzaga started out as a singer, and she is now coming in full circle, returning to where God has led her first–her passion in singing as she recently launched her latest album, her seventh, titled after her real name—‘Celestine’ at Wheat Bakery and Café on Scout Castor, Quezon City, on Tuesday, June 10.
The album is under Star Records with an original track titled ‘This Love is Like’.
With this particular album, she describes it as very personal and closer to her heart since she realized that her purpose in life as her God has designed it to be—is to be a singer first. Besides, her name means something that is heavenly and beautiful. Through her music, she believes that it is her mission to sing to give inspiration to her listeners and followers.
‘Celestine’ is a 10-track album. Original track titles such as ‘Got You’, ‘Finally’, ‘Sweetest Song’, ‘Oh Boy’, ‘Di ba Halata’, ‘Kahit Na’ (A Remix), Moophs remix of ‘This Love is Like’ and produced by Chris Lopez, her rendition of ‘Starting Over Again’, and her co-written song with seasoned composer and album producer—Jonathan Manalo titled ‘Awit ni Ginny’ as inspired from her character in Star Cinema’s box-office film opposite Piolo Pascual in ‘Starting Over Again’.
Apart from singing, Gonzaga is a visible figure since she hosts three shows on ABS-CBN Channel 2, and these are—‘The Buzz’, ‘Pinoy Big Brother: All-In’, ‘ASAP 19’ and the upcoming ‘The Voice of the Philippines Season 2’.
On Sunday, June 22, Gonzaga will have her grand album launch at Eastwood Central Plaza, 6pm.
