I am first and foremost indebted to my editor Vlad Bunoan for publishing the said article about the 10 selected Kims of the successful theater production titled ‘Miss Saigon’.
Originally this article was intended to be published in a different publication, a print publication, but didn’t pan out since the names who were listed to be included (in fact, there were more than 10 names to be featured since its original title was–‘The Many Faces of ‘Kims”); some of them didn’t budge and reply to the initiatives we made back then. Until I got tired and just foregone the idea of pursuing the said article. This was in 2009.
When ‘Miss Saigon’ was revived, my interest was rekindled. We wanted to publish the article in time for the opening last May, but again I couldn’t get to finish it since coordinating with the previous ‘Kims’ were also difficult in the first place. We set a deadline and even extended it until we had to decide to respect the deadline; and publishing it has lost its relevance. We had to strip down the number and eventually found the best time to release the article–in time for the 25th anniversary of ‘Miss Saigon’.
