After its successful runs for its three equally intense productions—‘Closer’, ‘Cock’, and ‘Rabbit Hole’, Red Turnip Theater is mounting another straight play that will surely rock the minds of its avid supporters and theater lovers alike via a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Donald Marguilies’s work ‘Time Stands Still’ on January 30 till March 8 at Whitespace.
Headlining the said play that centers on Sarah, a photojournalist to be breathed into by an accomplished stage director and a sensitive artist—Ana Abad Santos, who must return home with her journalist boyfriend James after sustaining injuries from an assignment in a war-torn Middle East. Essentially, the Marguilies play is a love story as it explores the relationship between Sarah and James; as they negotiate a more ordinary life, far from the thrills of a battleground, but the promise of living a simple life threatens to be a minefield for them both.
Playing James is one of Manila’s greatest leading men and character actors—Nonie Buencamino. Together with the two are Nor Domingo and Giannina Ocampo as Richard and Mandy, respectively.
Directing this fourth production of Red Turnip Theater is Rem Zamora, who did a rousing job via his directorial debut in ‘Cock’.
