The 25-year-old Mannix was chosen to be part of the ensemble of macho dancers.

The production revolves around macho dancers who are already past their prime and try to prevent the imminent closure of the rundown club. They enlist an ex-dancer to help choreograph a postmodern ballet extravaganza set for the ‘Big Night’. This is their last efforts to recapture both their glory days and the club’s.

Previous projects of Mannix were in ‘Kambal Sirena’, an episode in ‘Magpakailanman’, ‘Magkano ba ang Pag-ibig?’, and a film titled ‘Bamboo Flowers’ that was first exhibited at Sineng Pambansa National Film Festival All-Masters Edition in 2013. He also went through PETA’s basic acting and theater acting 1. This Virgin Labfest entry is his first professional theater appearance.

‘Macho Dancer: A Musical’ still has two more runs slated on Friday and Saturday, July 10 and 11 at 8pm and 3pm, respectively, at Tanghalang Huseng Batute, Cultural Center of the Philippines.
