Who is #AugustoBoboySyjuco?

Considered to be the most qualified in the lineup of candidates for the highest post in the country—to be the President of the Republic of the Philippines, #BoboySyjuco is a former Representative of the 2nd District of Iloilo and the Chief of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Back in the Arroyo administration, he was a member of the President’s personal five-person ‘think tank’ on crucial matters in the affairs of the Constitutional Convention. In 1971, he was elected Vice-President for the 1971 Constitutional Convention, holding the third highest rank post back then, when he was still at the age of 28. He was the 10th youngest of the 320 delegates.

He earned his MBA degree in Business Administration at Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA.

Two of His Platforms—Free Education for All Filipinos and Transform the Nation to be a ‘Jobs Capital of the World’.

Syjuco, as soon as he gets elected to be the President of the country, he has these two proposals—on his first day, he wants to pass a law on free education, which he firmly believes is the real means of leveling the playing fields between the poor and the rich. If access to free education, thus, he sees that every Filipino has the opportunity to have a better life and future.

In his six-year term, he would allocate 15 million scholarships annually, which will total to 90 million for the entire duration of his administration.

He promises to give the Technical Vocational (TEKBOK), College and Higher Education for free to all who will avail these. In TESDA alone, he can provide at least Php50 transportation subsidy with daily allowance for every scholar.

Apart from the Free Education, he intends to transform the nation to be a ‘Jobs Capital of the World’. He is a great believer that there is much power in human capital. He will welcome foreign companies to open jobs for Filipino skilled and trained workforce. Along with such, he will abolish taxes on petroleum products and other energies; Value Added Taxes (VAT). Those are just some of the many changes he intends to implement.

Uses Technology and Encourages Technology Users as His Allies.

On Saturday, January 9, Syjuco gathered the Metro Manila-based bloggers to sit down with him as he tried to persuade them to help him in his advocacy to promote the fastest Internet connection in the world. He pointed out that the said technology is vital for all Filipinos especially to the bloggers.

He foresees the power of the bloggers to disseminate pieces of information online, he lobbied some of the bloggers whom he think that would be instrumental in shaping the future of this country to retain its status of being the Number One in Business Process Outsourcing Internet Services provider in the world. Even if the country has suffered $45-billion loss, which could have increased the 1.3 billion to 2.34 billion employees if an additional of 1.04 billion has been attained.

He ensures and envisions that by 2017, the nation will have the fastest Internet speed in the world with fiber optic Internet infrastructure.

  1. Considered to be the most qualified in the lineup of candidates for the highest post in the country – let me ask you where’s this coming from? I think he’s the only one who thinks that way, even a vast minority of intelligent voters won’t agree to that fact – not a guy having pending graft charges..

    • It is your opinion and let the people decide. Besides, graft and corruption is even attached to any of the presidential candidates before and now. No one is clean at all.

As far as I know, he has filed graft and corruption charges to Franklin Drilon and thus, ‘graft and corruption’ also fought back on Syjuco.
