Sta. Maria as Chinggay who is a successful career woman, on a Press Conference on Thursday, June 16, she stressed that the struggle of finding a suitable partner is not entirely the fault of her character to be ‘successful’ or as someone who has high standards in getting a man to be in relationship with, “Men get intimidated because of the status of a woman especially when it comes to achievements.”

Both also shared their thoughts on how they move on after ‘heartbreaks’. For Veneracion, he says, “Iisipin ko lang. Kahit sino ka pa. Isang iyak ka lang. Then move on.”

While Jodi made sure to give encouraging words to those who experience heartbreaks: “Lahat ng pain na nangyayari sa atin. Everthing that we go through—our failures and heartbreaks, these will serve a ‘purpose’. Maybe we don’t understand now ‘why it’s happening’ but one day, everything will make sense. It’s up to you whether you dwell on your situation or you stand up, you walk and you move on.”

Also Jadaone, being the director and the co-screenwriter of this movie, she stresses that this #hugotflick wants to leave some thoughts for its female audience who could identify a similar scenario with Chinggay: “It is for all ladies who have been single for so long, they’re tired of hearing, Kailan ka mag-aasawa?, or of asking themselves, May mali ba sa’kin? Pangit ba ‘ko?”

‘The Achy Breaky Hearts’ is set to open on Wednesday, June 29 in cinemas nationwide.
