For Ara, this is not her first-ever initiative, but her second after she did a successful fund-raising concert in Araneta Coliseum back in 2006. A year after, she established the Ara Mina Foundation, which suports children with birth defects.  It is not unknown to many that the 39-year-old star is the sister of Mina Princess Klenk a.k.a. Batching, who has Down Syndrome and will soon be turning 26 this June 1.

During the press conference, she also revealed that Batching is her lucky charm eversince she started in the entertainment industry. She recalled that she auditioned for Star Magic back then but she wasn’t fortunate enough to be included in the cut; but when her sister with Down Syndrome was born—her lucky streak came as she was chosen to be part of the longest-running youth-oriented variety show—‘That’s Entertainment’ which was headed by the late Master Showman at the time—German ‘Kuya Germs’ Moreno.

The upcoming fun ride will be participated by celebrity-volunteers who will be sprinting around the 100-heactare grounds of Ciudad de Victoria, a tourism enterprise zone in Bocaue, Bulacan. In the morning till 10 in the evening, there’ll be ‘tiangges’ or bazaars for those families and visitors who will be coming to the whole-day affair that Ara is putting up. Martin Nievera is set to have a meini-concert in the evening as well.

Ara hopes to raise at least Php1M from the said event.

For interested parties to join the fun run, registration is available via www.runrio.com or at the following sites—Toby’s Sports, Hazelberry Café and Philippine Arena.
