Dinky Doo’s ‘My Dad, I Hate Drugs’

Being a former drug dependent himself, comedian-director Dinky Doo Jr. is back in the scene to do films that tackle about how people must deal with drug addicts; he did a film titled ‘Durugin and Droga’ with an acronym of ‘DAD’ in 2017; and this year he is doing another film that still uses the word ‘dad’ but this time—more of a comedic film via ‘My Dad, I Hate Drugs’.

Dinky Doo Jr.

As a strong advocate of DAD to which he refers to as ‘Diyos Ayaw sa Droga’ or ‘Dinky Ayaw as Droga’ or its Security and Exchange Commission registered name as ‘Duterte Anti-Drug’ and he is now appointed as a director (focused on anti-drugs program) by the Republic of the Philippines’ 16th President, His Excellency, Rodrigo Roa Duterte as part of the newly established liberal party called Pederalismong ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS).

His upcoming film centers on the relationship between a father and his daughter which will be portrayed by Doo Jr. himself and a Cagayan de Oro-bred aspiring star Alice Montenegro. Being a widower in the film, he will encounter a woman to whom he might be linked with romantically and that will be assumed by Claire Ruiz, a former talent of TV5 and now back in the ABS-CBN Kapamilya fold.

Despite (Doo Jr.) being identified with the President, he is one individual who do not support killing of drug dependents because he himself believe that everyone deserves to be given a chance to live again and have a normal life again. Such principle is something that he wants to reflect in everything that he does including the films he creates.

Born as a natural comedian, he became the sidekicks to action stars where he offers much-needed comic relief during intense situations of films.

The filming of ‘My Dad, I Hate Drugs’ will commence tomorrow, August 5 with some of the stars included are Tori Garcia and Marlon Villarojas.
