Vice Ganda continues to spread Beauty as a vice?

To most people, the word ‘vice’ has a negative connotation or definition. It means a bad habit or even described as a horse, which probably the singer-comedian-host-turned entrepreneur Vice Ganda has capitalized on his successful showbiz career as well as his Vice Cosmetics that made a Guiness World Record-holder.

In September of this year, Vice Ganda or Jose Marie Borja Viceral in real life mounted the Ganda for All Music Festival at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and together with his fans and an estimated of 6,900 people in attendance—they broke a world-record for the largest gathering of people applying lipstick at the same time. Two months later, on November 18, Vice Ganda opened the flagship store of his Vice Cosmetics at Market Market.

During the opening, thousands of people witnessed and flocked to the store and the comedian and TV host, who recently won the 4th RAWR Awards as Favorite TV Host did not fail to draw such a huge crowd inside the said mall.

Maymay Entrata and Kisses Delavin: Vice Cosmetics’ Faces.

When asked who chose Maymay Entrata and Kisses Delavin as the official face of Vice Cosmetics,  he said, “The very reason that the two young female stars were chosen—it’s because of the two fit the face of today’s young girls.”

He described the two young female stars; after their Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 edition stints, they both perfectly represent the young ladies of this present generation. Entrata from a simple beginnings and who possesses that ‘morena’ (brown) complexion and Delavin who was raised in a more comfortable lifestyle and has that flawless and fair skin could very well gravitate with the beauty brand’s intended market.

Vice Ganda is glowing these days.

Due to Vice Ganda’s rumored special friendship with Calvin Abueva, a Filipino professional basketball player for the Phoenix Fuel Masters of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA)—the question was thrown at him if there is a chance that what they both have at the moment will blossom into something deeper.

The host of Ganda Gabi Vice was quick to reply, “We are happy.” Nothing followed and the press fell silent and didn’t pursue any longer.

Phenom

What’s notable is that, Abueva’s grandmother is fond of him. Whenever he and Calvin go on a date, he usually wears either of the two of his favorites—Severe, a Good Vibes Matte Lipstick and Phenom, a Phenomenal Liquid Lipstick.

After the TV host and entrepreneur underwent a depression, which made him want to stop doing what loves to do; but through his two friends—Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid, he realized that’s it’s ‘the devil’ that was playing with his mind, so that it will bring him down and make him think negative. Since then, he fought and vowed to always stay positive. Vice Cosmetics is one outlet and his way of reaching out to people especially to women, those gay men who are being discriminated by society to choose to live and stay positive in and out, which translates to being beautiful.

He added that the tagline of Vice Cosmetics suggested such concept, “Kaya nga ‘Ganda for All’ (It means beauty for all regardless of whoever the person is).”

According to the fashion lifestyle brand, the group members were chosen to be the latest ambassadors since their group’s image have embodied and have resonated with the brand’s tagline: ‘Live Your Style’.

Elijah Wood once said, “I think being different, going against the grain of society is the greatest thing in the world.”

Because of the unique talents of Ex Battalion members—they were able to have their other song peaked, ‘No Games’ reached number 10 also in the Philippine Billboard. The collective was originally formed as a musical group by Bosx1ne, who mostly writes the hooks of each of their songs and Flow-G. Later members include JRoa, an Internet sensation; Jon Gutierrez, who is also known as the ‘King Badger’; Emcee Rhenn, Brando, KentMNL, Bullet-D and Mckoy.

The collective gained prominence nationwide after releasing several hit songs.

To date, they are dubbed as the most successful hip-hop collective in the country in the mainstream with their music video hits counting to almost three hundred million on YouTube. Following the departure of JRoa, who recently changed his screen name to John Roa, the collective released their hit single that debuted in the Philippines’ Top 20 chart and landed in number five spot.

Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas is the newest manager of the group. After signing up with Ms. delas Alas, offers came their way. In fact they are thrilled to do a US Tour soon.

In their collaboration with RRJ, one member shared: “Our swag, color coordination, that’s all going to be seen in our fashion collaboration with RRJ. We will have limited edition items which we will be working with them soon. We want to make our name right, we talk about it, we don’t want to fight, we started in an amateur rap contest, knew each other, we were in different groups but happen to know each other so we formed as Ex members of previous groups.”
