The 4th Partakan Festival is back on April 14-15!


Then clear, pristine turquoise waters with powdery white sand; enclosed by lush, verdant mountains of Anguib Beach, Santa Ana, in Cagayan plays host to the fourth Partakan Festival set is on April 14-15 and is again supported by Ropali Motorcycles and Honda Philippines Incorporated along with other major partners for the said annual event.

The yearly celebration that began in 2014 and is dubbed as the first-ever as well as the only ride-and-rock event have attracted local motorbike enthusiasts and their respective families. Apart from the two major stakeholders; it also gained the support of companies like Kawasaki Motors Incorporated, Yamaha Motor Philippines and Suzuki Philippines to help mount the 2017 exciting event.

The Amazing Ride Moto-Tourism Challenge is one of the most exciting and anticipated part of the festival. It is sponsored by Shell Philippines and is patterned after the Amazing Race TV series and the competition aims to promote not just tourism, but camaraderie and family bonding of those who will be participating. It will feature teams with six members each and will go through the challenges at various Shell gasoline stations.

Winners will have the chance to bring home up to Php20,000 cash and other lovely prizes. Other challenges in the festival are Auto-Moto Speed Challenge and Bail Out Challenge.

During the press launch of the said festival on March 30 at Ropali Plaza in Pasig, the brother-and-sister entrepreneurs—Aldus Alingog and Ariane Arabel Alingog—the general manager and president of Ropali Motorcyles led the panel during the Q and A portion. Also present in that evening was Iñaki Jose, DOT Assistant Secretary Ricky Alegre’s representative takes pride in this event because it has created a micro-economy for the local residents in that area.

The 39-year old Star Magic artist and an ultimate heartthrob of today’s generation, the actor-musician-model-record and film producer—Piolo Pascual will be heading a close to a 100 Star Magic artists to partake in one of the most anticipated, star-studded charity fun race dubbed as ‘SUNPIOLOGY RUN: Sugar Wars’, set tomorrow, November 19 at sunset Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.

The said initiative is spearheaded by Sun Life of Canada (Philippines) Incorporated as it focuses on preparation and prevention as keys to living a robust life. The Philippines being declared as a diabetic hot spot, ‘Sugar Wars’ pushes for an active lifestyle as one of the best deterrents against this debilitating disease. Participants can choose from distances that include a 500m walk/dash for kids and adults (Php350); 3K (Php700); 5K (Php800); and 10K (Php900). Being an obstacle course, four ‘battle stations’ help facilitate better understanding about this particular illness.

What makes tomorrow’s event more attractive is the after-run show, which serve as the launch of Inigo Pascual’s debut album featuring the official ‘Go Well’ jingle titled ‘Live Life Brighter’ together with surprise performances.

The said fun race launch was held at the Visayas Ballroom of Sofitel Philippine Plaza on October 11, hosted by Boom Gonzalez and Tippy Dos Santos.

Aljur promotes his 4 Indie Flicks, a Brand Endorsement


The year 2016 looks quite promising and busy for StarStruck Season 4 ‘Ultimate Hunk’ and GMA Artist Center talentAljur Abrenica as he finished and all his four independent films are set for release and a sporting brand chose him to be as an endorser; which were revealed in an intimate bloggers’ conference at Tweedle Book Café on Scout Gandia, Quezon City on Wednesday, March 16.

Abrenica, over the years have become mature in his portrayals of roles assigned to him and has become more adventurous in taking on projects.

His Two Most Challenging Roles.

The supposed to be entry to the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival, but backed out—the film titled ‘Ang Hapis at Himagsik ni Hermano Puli’ is about the founder of Cofradia de San José (Confraternity of St. Joseph), which was composed of Indios, and came to be known to his followers as Hermano Puli or Pule short for Apolinario de la Cruz (July 22, 1814 – November 4, 1841 or ‘Brother Puli’. As Puli, he led a major revolt against Spanish rule of the Philippines based on a struggle for religious freedom and independence.

While his character for ‘Expressway’, a film entry for ‘Sinag Maynila Independent Film Festival, which is happening on April 21-26 in SM Cinemas—he took on a role of Morris, a neophyte hitman, a trigger-happy, sadist who yearns to impress the syndicate boss and is partnered with a syndicate old-timer named Ben needs to do one last assignment before the boss he works for grants him his much delayed retirement. According to Aljur, to prepare for the role—to psyche himself up—he had to interview a real-life-hired-killer. The film is his reunion with Ato Bautista as his director after another film—‘Mabalasik’.

Two Other Films—‘EDSA’ and ‘Mabalasik’.

‘EDSA’ is something that is close to 2009 and 2012 Sexiest Filipino Man’s (Ranked 1 and 2) heart because it is a reunion project for him and his batchmate in StarStruck Season 4, the actor’s co-Top Four winner—Kris Bernal. Both play Jun, a snatcher and Carla, a nurse, respectively. The film is directed by Alvin Yapan and had its release in time for the 30th year anniversary of the People Power Revolution.

But with ‘Mabalasik’, he is joined in by another equally hot actor, also a Kapuso talent—Rocco Nacino. In this film, Abrenica assumed the role of Elias Obrero as the predator thief while Nacino is the newlywed cop, who is hunting the former for the death of his godfather. Ato Bautista directed the said movie, which was filmed prior to ‘Expressway’.

#AljurAbrella’s Latest Endorsement.

Every year, the actor has his goal of having at least one endorsement and this 2016, PUMA Philippines signed him up to be the image of the sporting brand to launch its campaign for Ignite Ultimate Shoes.

Aljur shared that his first encounter with the said brand was his dream of becoming a soccer play, but the sport isn’t just for him. His being the StarStruck Ultimate Hunk title made the brand to get him to represent PUMA. He is mainly going to promote the running, fitness and training segment of the said brand.
