After his box-office hit film—‘Alwas Be My Maybe’ opposite the equally hot and talented Ms. Arci Muñoz, Gerald Anderson has three more reasons for him to rejoice these days, which were talked about during a bloggers’ conference at Restaurant 9501 at ELJ Building, Quezon City today, March 1.
He’s celebrating His 10th Anniversary in Showbiz.
Gerald is very much vocal in his dream of being part of the military, which he thought he’d be entering when he turned 18, but fate has made a different turn and he ended up entering the first season of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB): Teen Edition on 23 April 2006. He was then proclaimed Teen Third Big Placer after his 42-day stay in the Big Brother House.
A year later, he was paired with Kim Chiu, another PBB alumna and the Big Winner via a drama series—‘Sana Maulit Muli’. But according to Anderson, two of his fondest projects are the soap operas titled—‘Tayong Dalawa’ (2009) and ‘Budoy’ (2011-2012), respectively.
His film 2013 ‘On the Job’ with Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment as the Daniel Benitez with Erik Matti as his director; and earned him a FAMAS Best Actor nomination is one that he could consider as his most ‘challenging’ role he ever portrayed. And his latest film with Dan Villegas raked a Php20M as of this writing and had a Php8M mark on its first day alone is also his most ‘honest’ acting for a particular character as Jake.
March is His Birthday Month.
Come March 7, on his birthday, he is thankful for all the blessings that came his way since he found himself in the said industry. As he turns 27 on the said date, he looks forward to more meaningful years and even happenings in his life’s journey both as a private individual and as a celebrity.
Last year, he won his first-ever Best Actor trophy courtesy of the 24th PMPC Star Awards for Television for his moving performance in an episode of ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ where he played a person stricken with Tourette Syndrome. As of December of the same year, he has 21 acting nominations and he won 10 Best Actor awards and one Best Supporting actor award.
On television, he was last seen via a fantasy-drama series titled—‘Nathaniel’ as he played Paul Laxamana, the young father of a baby boy who became an angel after dying in an accident.
He’d like to spend his birthday to be purpose-driven as he is going to embark into a leaf of his life’s journey.
Launching the Gerald Anderson Foundation soon.
On the day of his birthday, Anderson will be hosting a benefit dinner, which will serve as a springboard to officially launch the Gerald Anderson Foundation. It will be at Le Rêve Events Venue in Quezon City and he has invited friends and family members as well as possible individual(s) and corporate sponsors to make a pledge to support this advocacy-driven effort and group he recently formed.
The non-profit volunteer-driven organization seeks to serve the country and the world as it is committed to providing responses with specialized canines, with highly-trained personnel, and equipment that aids in the recovery of missing persons especially during disasters like the one southern Mindanao and when Yolanda struck Tacloban.
Through his foundation, he wants to help save lives by training dogs for search and rescue operations during calamities such as flood and earthquakes.

Premiering tonight, September 28, the teleseries titled ‘Ang Probinsyano’ which is topbilled by Coco Martin, the recipient of Fernando Poe Jr. Memorial Award at the recently concluded 63rd FAMAS Awards is a potential top-rater replacing ‘Nathaniel’.
Martin will be assuming dual roles in the said series—as PO3 Ricardo ‘Cardo’ Dalisay and Police Sr. Inspector Dominador ‘Ador’ B. De Leon, which is also a remake of the 1977 Fernando Poe Jr. film of the same title. In this 2015 version, Coco is paired anew with Maja Salvador as PO3 Glenn Corpuz and Bela Padilla as Carmen De Leon, the wife of Cardo’s twin brother Ador, who was killed in a human trafficking bust and which brought back the long-lost twin brother Cardo to assume the identity of his dead police officer-brother in order to solve the said crime.
According to Martin, assuming the role of Carlo is much difficult as opposed to Ador’s. Both roles have been assumed by the late King of Philippine Action Films—Fernando Poe Jr.
“Si Ador, akong-ako kung gumalaw. Nguni’t ibang-iba si Cardo,” the box-office actor described his two contrasting characters.
In the cast, Albert Martinez, Agot Isidro, Arjo Atayde, Jaime Fabregas, Malou de Guzman, Joey Marquez, Dennis Padilla, Ana Roces, Marvin Yap, Malou Crisologo, Iza Calzado and Susan Roces are among the powerhouse cast members. The series is predicted to reign on TV Primetime Bida Slots and in Philippine television as well. The said series is in partnership with Dreamscape Entertainment Television and FPJ Productions; under the directions of Malu Sevilla and Avel Sunpongco.
